Welcome!

August the 1st and the official kickoff is nearly here, and I can't wait to get started! I think we'll all have a ton of fun, and learn how to do some cool things in the process. You can go ahead and get started, just make sure you finish your projects between August 1st and the end of January. I picked up some of the monthly prizes this past weekend, too and will post the August prize in a week or so.

I wanted to remind everyone that y'all are free to post on this blog as much as you would like, so long as it is related to the KAL. Since it's all about doing new things, I encourage you to ask questions about different 'how-to's and techniques and things, and to let us know how it's going. One thing I ask is that when replying to a particular question, that you answer it in the "comments", so it will be easy for people to find all the responses.

I thought it would be fun to post a list of some of the things we might like to try during this KAL, so here is my list.

1. Felting (this is gonna be my August project, which I'll probably cast on tonight!)
2. yarn dying
3. knitting something with yarn I have dyed myself
4. knitting socks on circulars (this one will probably give me a cussin' fit, so look out!)
5. Intarsia or Fair Isle
