September Project Done!!

Gimme an S... gimme an S... Gimme an S... Goooooo, Silken!!

My September project was "working with beads". I think I passed, if I may say so myself, especially considering that there are over 1500 beads in this scarf!

More specs on my blog.

My October project will be: learning to knit cables without a cable. I will be trying it with this sweater (pattern in Twilley Denim Freedom booklet): and instructions in Melissa Leapman's Cables Unlimited.

Everyone else's stuff looks great! Happy end of September! ;-)

Gee, you really deserve that 'S'!! OMG, 1500 beads!! It is really beautiful, you did such a great job!!

I know there are a lot of us on here who want to learn to do beading, so you are truely inspiring us!

OOOoo pretty and unique! Do all those beads make it a tad heavy?

Beautiful! I love your yarn selection. I've been wanting to try out knitting with beads, and your project really ramped up my interest.

Thanks, all!

Crow Calling Woman: it has a nice heft to it (which hopefully means it won't go missing too easily in the sbuway. There is 300 g of yarn in the scarf - I don't know the weight of the beads .

I would encourage anyone to try working with beads for a "Do Something New" project. Earthfaire have some great patterns as well...

You rock, sistah! I am thinking about beads for my October project, but I might have to go back for more punishment on the Montego Bay Scarf. Seems my Mom had her heart set on taking it on her vacation at the end of October. My knitting group told me of a magical thing called the "lifeline", might make lace knitting less painful.

Knit back, best of luck with the Montego Bay. Please let me know how the lifeline thing goes. I have heard of using it and probably will try it out with my next lace project (probably the Oriel top from IK Summer 2007). ;-)
